Casino in Newcastle

Hello.
Im staying in Newcastle for almost 2 weeks, and I noticed there are some casinoes in the city. I love playing poker and drink beer so that will be my main reason going to the casino. Any suggestions where I should go? :)

Newcastle Bucks Ideas

I’m in charge of organising a bucks weekend in February and the guy likes horse racing. The original plan was to go to Randwick and the Casino in Sydney, but because of covid I’m thinking it’s safer to keep it in Newcastle.
Just seeing if anyone has some ideas or recommendations for good places to drink/gamble/go out these days? Havent been out in town for over 5 years

Top 5 Best Cities in the UK?

My list (only based on cities I've actually been to!)
1) London
2) Liverpool
3) Sheffield
4) Nottingham
5) Birmingham or Milton Keynes
So every January and June - me and two mates go to a city in the UK that atleast two of us haven't been too before - however becuase we've been stuck inside for so long due to COVID we're gonna go out more next year.
We're quite young so we like the tall building, busy city London type of vibe - good food, open spaces, nightlife etc and was wondering your recommendations.
London - nothings going to beat it, feels like literally the whole world in one place - dwarfs everything else by comparison, after not going there for around 5 years or more I went back last year for winter wonderland and fell in love with the place again - haven't been clubbing there though, feels too crazy a place to do it.
Liverpool - Amazing city, was there for 2 days and it exceeded expectations - the accent isn't great but the place is quite gorgeous - part of me loved the centres open designs and part of me found it underwhelming - the shopping is meh but everything else is great, it feels massive and busy and the street food is exceptional - will definitely be returning if just for that - also the clubbings underrated, never hear Liverpool brought up but it was great - apart from when we had to walk all the way back to the apartment then to the club again becuase apparently the shoes I had on are worn by druggies in the area.
Sheffield - Sheffield surprised me alot - went to see a hockey game (or a footy game I can hardly remember) what I do remember is how surprisingly modern it feels - meadowhall is huge which is nice, the shoppings just ok though - could've put a Selfridges or something there - I much prefer bullring and MK's centre.
Nottingham - I moved from London to Nottingham around 2 years ago and I really like it, sitting in market Square and just chatting with mates while the tram goes past is great, it has that city feel and is one of the more varied cities in terms of food, shops etc just a shame that the better shops aren't inside the shopping centre which severely lacks imo - it's an old place that feels young. Known for its clubbing it dosent disappoint - I don't think I've ever seen so much clubs in one place.
Birmingham - the first time I came to Birmingham was a college trip about 3 years ago and I was in awe of the place, I thought it was gorgeous and huge. My gf is in Birmingham so I've been there alot since and that effect has almost completely worn off.
Bullring/grand Central is still great - shops are great, layouts great - no issues there, plenty of big shiny buildings and the food is exquisite - the restaurants, the fast food, shisha lounges - all of that is great and there's some really nice areas..but man, is the city dirty and kind of ugly sometimes to - jewellery quatre is a nice area but that's the only one I can think of, not to mention the amount of rats there is staggering. Really 60/40 with Brum - the nightlife was good though, really fun vibe.
Milton Keynes - never been clubbing here or really seen the living areas but the shopping centre is still my favourite, it feels modern, Xscape used to be more fun when I was a kid before the bowling alley and arcade became a casino but there's still the snowdome and other things - I'm a bit bias becuase I used to come here with my mum alot as a kid and the place was always just magical to me whereas London was too big for me to understand what was going on - we never turn down a chance to go.
Possible visits :
I've heard Manchester's the second best to London - heard nothing but good things all of a sudden by people so thats next on the list for sure.
Heard Leeds is great - really fun atmosphere and great food.
Newcastles always referred to as the undisputed king of UK nightlife - I'm not really into drinking anymore but I love the electric you dunno what's gonna happen feel in the air on a night out so that's on the plans to.
Edinburgh - at some point next year we're planning a road trip to either Edinburgh or either lake or peak district - lake District has the best pub food btw, went when I was like 12 and never forgot the place.

Newcastle Upon Tyne, Newcastle University Drop-Out, Collaborated With Blockchain Giants to Bring Online Gambling on a Decentralized Platform

Newcastle Upon Tyne, Newcastle University Drop-Out, Collaborated With Blockchain Giants to Bring Online Gambling on a Decentralized Platform
Global,Newcastle University drop-out withdrew from his course in January 2014 to explore different industries and sectors worldwide. After facing trust issues in different business sectors, experiencing massive depths and losses. He indulged with blockchain technology and researched the colossal potential of decentralized applications. His inspiration was his mentor, Mr.Graham Morgan, at Newcastle University and another technology-based entity, BLOCKCHAIN. Amber Kumar, who was pursuing Msc in computer game engineering, experienced an epiphany about the ongoing healthcare, travel, gambling, and financeindustry's major problem.
Knowing the benefit of blockchain technology and how effective it is for the world, a system way too autonomous and decentralized maintains transparency in records, be it transactional, asset, identity, as needed.
When asked to justify blockchain's transparency- He said, "It gives assured control over data and privacy as it makes use of smart contracts that are not prone to human interference, thus preventing cybercrime, hacking, password leaks, and data thefts."
2014, the year when he started researching blockchain technology and eventually formed WSCF Global.
Next, his profound thoughts led to the amalgamation of blockchain and online gaming resulting in Supraorbs.
'The secret of getting ahead is getting started' (Mark Twain). Indeed Amber is on his way to growth and success, for he took his journey with blockchain technology ahead. WSCF Global, with the collaboration of US partners and Russian partners (who have 12 years of experience in the finance industry), boosted the cryptocurrency market. DHF (Decentralized Hedge Fund) was the product of their collaboration, giving its users an average of 10% per month. It is an independent platform that is run by AI programmed for financial management and growth. It has produced 132.42% cumulative profit this year.
Supraobs is a decentralized cryptocurrency asset investment platform combined with online casino games for the most-efficient financial growth on the Ethereum decentralized financial DeFi ecosystem. The DeFi model helps to exclude the role of mediator.
Supraorbs is an Ethereum DeFi ecosystem that helps players to own their data and investment. It Will help players deposit their cryptocurrency to gain ORBT, and with its access, players can be engaged in online gambling experiences and withdraw their winning amount anytime.
Supraorbs is powered by blockchain technology, AI, and casino gamification, providing users the advantage of earning an average maximum interest rate by just investing in these decentralized platforms. For the upliftment and financial growth of the homeless, needy, and poor people, many opportunities are lingering. It is an online gambling solution for UK and US gambling users. Statistics have revealed that online gambling is a booming sector within the EU, with gross gaming revenue(GGR) expected to reach 29.3 billion euros in 2022. Still, it is centralized and is taking people to bankruptcy depths.
Supraorbs will overcome all these blues by producing a transparent and independent ecosystem where users will eventually face victory.
Voila!
Online gambling platform awaits all its worthy users to be a part of it.

About Supraorbs
The fusion of blockchain and online gaming produced Supraorbs. It is a decentralized and autonomous platform. Specially designed for gamers, people who are into betting and casinos. It is a game-changer for casino industries, which will profit the players without risking their essential details. The players have control over their data and thereby maintain the privacy of the records.
Cybercrimes such as frauds, data thefts, hacking, and password leaks are thus prohibited.
Supraorbs uses ORBT tokens that can be exchanged with any cryptocurrency or vice versa. Besides, a gamer can earn huge profits with complete data security and control.
Thus, Supraorbs is the need of the modern digitized society.
About WSCF Global
WSCF Global is a platform where you can find solutions to your problems technically. It is a demand-for-a-digital-world that functions as a decentralized democracy. WSCF is a community that helps businesses to upsurge at a competitive level by providing knowledge of the latest tools and technologies at the best costs. Business growth occurs through one's resources. Harmony and prosperity are the critical factors of WSCF, where authority and control are not centralized. Thus, it connects and links people to maintain transparency for public welfare.
Blockchain Technology provides transparency through a hyperledger that sequentially contains records, be it transactional records, contracts, assets, or identities, and protects people from counterfeit or second-hand products. Data is within the control of the respective consumer. There is no mediator or any fear of hacking and cracking. Helps in tracking the product's shipping by monitoring its location.
With digitization, the market is prone to the risk of forgery and fraud to a great extent, and to eliminate it, one must support a community like WSCF that revolutionizes the world to be a better place to live.

Australian outback cattle station to house world's largest solar farm, powering Singapore "The 10 gigawatt solar farm, which will be visible from space if built" "construction to begin in late 2023, energy production by 2026 and export by 2027."

This is the best tl;dr I could make, original reduced by 56%. (I'm a bot)
Newcastle Waters, where casino mogul James Packer worked as a jackaroo for a year when his father, Kerry, owned the 10,000 sq km property, has been earmarked for the $20bn solar farm, according to the company responsible for the project, Sun Cable.
Sun Cable's chief executive, David Griffin, told Guardian Australia the site would take up about 12,000 hectares, and that a referral for the project has been submitted to the Northern Territory's Environmental Protection Authority - the first stage of a lengthy approvals process that is expected to allow construction to begin in late 2023, energy production by 2026 and export by 2027.
Overhead transmission lines will send the electricity generated by Sun Cable to Darwin and feed into the state's power grid, but Griffin said two-thirds of the power would be exported to Singapore by high-voltage direct current undersea cables.
There will be at least two cables, each with a diameter slightly smaller than a soccer ball, with Sun Cable able to provide about a fifth of Singapore's electricity needs as the country looks to move away from its increasingly expensive gas-fired power system.
Griffin has also said the solar farm could supply power to remote communities in the Northern Territory that currently rely on expensive diesel generators for electricity.
Griffin said Sun Cable was working on a training and employment opportunities plan so part of the workforce could be sourced from nearby Indigenous communities, and that supplies would be produced by local businesses.

Zytronic plc

Disclaimer
I own shares in Zytronic. As always, this is all just my interpretation and could be completely wrong, I'm sharing to hear (preferably constructive) critical feedback from others. Always do your own research.
Business Overview
Zytronic plc are a UK based commercial touch screen manufacturer (think casino machines, ATMs, train ticket machines etc.) with a factory & headquarters just outside Newcastle.
They specialise in 'projected capacitive' touch screens. Their products are considered to be on the high-end of the value curve- they're more expensive but offer a better combination of durability & touch-sensitivity than cheaper alternatives.
Their 2019 turnover was £20.1M (£22.3M 2018), with profit for the year of £2.7M (£3.6M). Their gaming (casinos) segment accounted for 32% of this, whilst the financial sector (ATMs) represented 31%.
From 2005 to 2017, revenues grew fairly steadily from £10.6M to £22.9M, at the same time profits went up 4.5X to £5.4M.
Since 2015, the financial segment has been decreasing from around £10M to £6.2M in 2019. The majority of this decrease has come from their non-touch displays, which now represent around 6% of the segment's revenues. The touch financial segment has also experienced some decline, but a lot less extreme and 2019 was up slightly on the previous year. They don't have high hopes for the financial segment as the requirement for ATMs decreases with the uptake in card payments.
The declining financial segment revenues were more than offset from 2015-2017 by the gaming sector experiencing rapid growth. However, in 2019 this gaming revenue declined 25% due to a major project nearing its end, which looks likely to further decrease as that project winds up.
The nature of the business means that they make the majority of their revenue from long-term projects with a small number of customers. In 2019, around half of their revenue came from the top 3 customers. This evidently lends itself to big swings in revenue and earnings when these projects come to an end without another major project in place to fill the gap.
H1 2020 (ending March 31st) offered little to console shareholders that the business would return to growth. Revenue was £7.4M, down 22% on H1 2019, and profit before tax was down to £0.5M from £1.4M. This decline was further driven by their largest gaming project finishing, but also by declines in their two other largest segments of financial and vending, so it was bad news on multiple fronts.
The silver lining is that the business had started to turn around its trading in the first 3 months of the 2020 calendar year with order intake for Jan-Mar was 15% up on the previous year and prior to the coronavirus outbreak and the associated global lockdown, they were expecting the second half of the year to drastically improve.
Type of investment
Clearly the above description of the business isn't one of a clear path to increased profits and they could be loss-making very quickly if the business can't convert its opportunities into sales quick enough (which is what it attributes the 2019 underperformance to).
The reason I chose to invest was when looking at the balance sheet and seeing that with the company selling for a market cap of £17M, they had a book value of £23.8M, £12.4M of which is cash. Even if you attribute 0 value to patents & licencing, assume no value appreciation on their properties and take a significant haircut on inventories, receivables, properties & machinery, I still believe the liquidation value offers a slight margin of safety on today's market cap (my calculations said around an 8% margin of safety, but do your own research).
I'm not investing because I think there's a slight profit on the liquidation value. I simply see that as solid downside protection of the business doesn't return to growth (or at least remain stagnant at 2019s levels).
The touch screen industry is very likely to continue growing over the coming years and Zytronic plc appear to have a history of innovation and product improvement.
Whilst I would struggle to put a number on the upside here, if they return to a level of profit whereby they can pay the dividend they have over the last two years, the current share price offers a 21% yield. If the business does anything besides liquidate, I see this as a very undervalued stock.

Opening all the Casinos in the metro this week proves this state is run by greed and not love. Oklahoma disgusts me and I feel ashamed to be from here.

Too often we brag and shout on how Oklahoma is a tight-knit community that has each other's back, how we are a big family, and how there is no other place in the country like us.
Just like our normal politics when it comes to a livable wage, affordable health care, and incarceration rates Oklahoma is proving to us that it's a business and not a family. This week I have been told by a few of my friends and relatives that work at Newcastle, Goldsby, and Riverwind that they are opening back up in a few days and it just blows my mind. These 3 places are located at and around the epicenter for both the amount of infections and death totals. This is absurd and irresponsible. In no way are these places essential, healthy, or positive in any way. Opening these disgusting disease factories is a giant slap in the face for Oklahomans.
Even on a normal day these places are no better than rotting cesspools and I speak on this as someone who worked there for a few years (14 years ago) and witnessed the disgusting nature of many who attended. Peeing in your seat, spitting on the machines, vomiting on the buttons, period blood, a smell that clearly indicates the person hasn't showered in at least a week or more while also sleeping in a pile of dead carcasses, a cough that can wake the dead, and all this while chain smoking cigarettes from a brand that you've never even heard of before are all just the NORMAL operating conditions of these disgusting, stomach turning, environments. Now we are going to offer these same people who clearly don't give a crap about anything but their own addictions a platform to spread a deadly virus. This is ridiculous.
To be clear I'm not concerned with these people. If you choose to go to one of these places in a time like this then you are already a lost cause unfortunately. I am concerned with the workers and my family members that HAVE to show up now and put great risk on themselves and their loved ones just so people can look at bright colors on a screen. I mean can't they just play some stupid casino app on their phone?
Oh you are going to have one of your minimum wage untrained workers at the door to take their temperature? Super, I feel relieved....except that a lot of people who have this may not even show a fever and can still be contagious.
Oh you are going to force them to wear a mask? LOL! People can't even be bothered to wear one long enough to pay a gas station clerk. You think they are going to wear one inside for hours? What about when they want to stuff another cancer stick in their mouth? Please explain to me how you can smoke a cigarette and wear a mask at the same time. Are you going to not allow smoking inside anymore? What about drinking at the bar? Do they need to take these drinks outside so they can remove the mask and go back in when finished? No, they are going to take the damn mask off and puff away and you're not going to do a damn thing about it.
A bowling alley at least has some merit on being open. It is an experience that you can not find anywhere else. A casino is literally a place you drive to so you can play cell phone quality video games as an adult in a dark room for real money. Keep in mind that there are tons of online casinos that do the same thing and use real money.
So to tie all this into the 'coronavirus-question' flair I chose; Why are we treating Oklahoman's as a commodity instead of a community?

My Money Making Ideas

Forgive me but I am new to Reddit and social media in general.
Circumstances are such that I am about to hit a major life change. I am being made redundant in April. Do not feel sorry for me as this is something I have planned. For the last few years, I have been making reasonable money with various “side hustles”.
The purpose of this post is to share what I know and to develop my social media presence. I am not expecting to make vast sums of money (at least not yet) and do not expect it to be easy.
I have worked for many years and would like to earn enough in the following areas.
Please note that all referral links posted herein were accurate at time of posting. When clicking the links, I would encourage you to satisfy yourself of the conditions before proceeding.
So here it is…

Gift cards
For the last 3 years, the majority of what I buy is with gift cards. I do buy gift cards in advance, so I am tying money up. This is how you get the biggest savings. I have a number of sources but the main one is eBay.
I bought a new kitchen costing several thousand pounds. I located a website which sold Wickes gift cards for 8% discount. I paid a deposit for the kitchen on my credit card and made several payments on account using gift cards which I topped up regularly through this site.
Anyone can do this and it is relatively straight forward. That said, you do have to be wary of scammers on eBay and the expiry of the various gift cards.

Cashback
Everyone knows about Quidco and Top Cashback. I have used both for several years and have received £’000s over the years. These are brilliant sites for holiday and insurance spend.
Quidco:
Click my referral link and you will get £10 for registration. There is a £5 annual fee but you only pay this, if you earn.

Top Cashback:
Click my referral link and you will get £5 for registration. There is a £5 annual fee but you only pay this, if you earn.

Complete Savings:
Less known is “Complete Savings” and this has had some bad press. This is where you can earn a lot more and more regularly.
There is a £15 per month fee but this is refundable if you make a cashback claim every month. One of the best retailers on this website is eBay. You get 10% cashback on the majority of eBay spend. From time to time, I do have to send emails regarding the cashback on the gift cards but the majority of times they accept my claim. The payments can be a little erratic but I am getting paid most weeks. They pay a lot quicker than Quidco and Top Cashback but there is a maximum cashback of £250 per month.
I have been maximising this limit for a few years now but do wonder how long this will last. That said, as long as you make a claim every month and do not rely on the cashback, you cannot lose.
Credit cards:
Where I don’t use a gift card, I use a credit card which gives cashback. For example, all of my purchases on eBay are with an American Express Cashback card.
Receive £25 cashback when you apply for the Platinum Cashback Credit Card, are approved and when you first spend over £1 on the card. You will also receive 5% cashback up to £125 for the first three months of card membership.

Matched Betting
Disclaimer: This is not for everyone.
When I first heard about this, I was skeptical by some of the wild claims and I was right. You can make money with this and I won’t go into how this works but it is not 100% risk free.
When the claims of it being 100% risk free, you are relying on two things:

  1. you do not make a mistake; and
  2. the bookie pays out
In the vast majority of bets, the above should not be an issue. If you are not careful, you can back one team and lay the same team but on the wrong event. This is a stupid mistake but one I have made! Also, the odds can move very quickly and you can place the wrong amount.
The latter is rare but some bookies may try to use the “palpable” error as a way of not paying on a winning bet. I have had this, challenged it and have been successful.
The other factor that is often excluded is the fact that you need to cover both sides of the bet. Depending on the back bet amount and the odds, this can be a large amount on the lay side.
There are many offers open to new customers. One example is Stakers. Bet £10 and get £40 in free bets. I placed my £10 back bet on Rochdale v Newcastle (4th Jan) for Rochdale to win at odds of 4.40. At SMarkets, I placed a £9.02 lay bet on Rochdale not to win at odds of 4.90. Regardless of the outcome, I knew I would lose £1.16 but would receive 4 £10 free bets. I then was able to generate £27.73 from the free bets, giving me a profit of £26.57. This could have been more had I sought out better odds but I wanted just to get it done.

There is money to be made here but you need to go in with your eyes open.

Affiliate Marketing and Referrals
I have no experience with this and must admit that I am a little daunted. A bit like Matched Betting, I believe money can be made here but I am still trying to work out what the truth really is.
I will shill some referral links below.
TransferGo (Money Transfer):
Send £50 or more and you will get £10. Not eligible for EUR to EUR transfers.
[Ref] http://trgo.co/en/WPly8G or use WPly8G

Wealthify (Investing):
Invest £500 or more for at least three months, you will earn a £50 boost to your investment.

Retail Arbitrage
I am making a little money on this but as I am working full time, I have limited time to devote to this at the moment.
I am keeping an eye on special offers and am buying items to mainly resell on eBay.
When I have more free time, I will look at expanding this and maybe open an Amazon FBA account.

Print On Demand
Just starting this now. I have a few ideas for designs and am in the process of setting things up. I have no idea what to expect but sometimes the journey itself is the most beneficial.
I will be looking into using Facebook ads and Google to drive traffic. This is another skill that I am going to have to develop.

Selling My Skills
I will probably go self-employed in the future and do similar work to what I do now. I am a Finance Director and have experience in systems implementation. I will probably do contract work which fits with what I want to do.
I may look at creating an Udemy course, provide services on Upwork or even create a You Tube channel. I’m not sure about any of these but maybe I need to do it to challenge myself.

Recycling
This is likely to be more of a hobby than a making money idea. My idea is to obtain scrap coppebrass and smelt into bars, to then resell on eBay. Sounds like fun but not convinced I’m going to make anything significant, if at all.

Ecommerce
This is for 2021 and beyond. I’m looking at creating a Shopify store and drop shipping. I recognise that I do not have enough time, at the moment, to give this the attention it deserves. I believe that once I better understand some of the other areas, I will be in a better position to tackle this.

Other
This covers everything else.
There are many other opportunities that are one-offs.
For example, many years ago I mistakenly deposited into a casino site with a credit card. I do like playing blackjack. On this occasion, I won and withdrew my winnings. When I saw the charges on my credit card, I saw a £3 charge for the deposit but then also noticed a £3 credit for the withdrawal.
I then deposited £50 and immediately withdrew 10 lots of £5. I reviewed the transactions and again was charged £3 for the deposit. However, I received £3 credit for each of the 10 withdrawals. This meant I actually made £27.
Over the next month, I scaled this up and made £’000s before the charges and credits stopped. I did keep this profit to one side. Sometime later, I received a letter from the credit card company stating that there had been an error in their system which had been corrected. They continued by saying that I would not be asked to repay these monies. It was pure chance that I found this opportunity.
Another opportunity I have had which has been connected to my job relates to air miles. Over the last 3 years, I have used my personal credit card to pay company suppliers. This has allowed me to amass a lot of air miles.
I hope this has been helpful to some of you and please bear in mind that I am still new to this. Yes, I wanted to shill some of the referrals but I wanted to try to provide some benefit in return. Any advice on the areas I’m about to embark on would be appreciated.

Zytronic plc investment thesis

I simply see that as solid downside protection if the business doesn't return to growth (or at least remain stagnant at 2019s levels).
